Strength and Conditioning for Teens can improve self-esteem, help your child maintain a healthy weight, boost metabolism, and strengthen bones. Resistance training also helps protect joints and muscles from injury and increase endurance. In this class, youth ages 11 to 16 will perform light and controlled movements using body weight, free weights, machines and resistance tubing. This is a great class for beginners but all levels are welcome! This class is held each Tuesday and Thursday at the Parker Fieldhouse, 18700 E Plaza Dr., from 4:30 to 5:25 p.m. beginning Oct. 29 through Dec. 12. Cost is $62 per Parker resident and $68 per non-resident.
Strength and Conditioning for Cyclists is a new off-season cycling program with a focus on cycling-related strength and conditioning. This class will help participants, 18 years and up, stay strong, fit and fast as they prepare for the next outdoor cycling season. This session is each Tuesday and Thursday from 6:45 to 7:45 p.m., Nov. 5 through Dec. 19 at the Parker Recreation Center, 17301 E. Lincoln Ave. Cost is $84 per Parker resident and $92 per non-resident.
