PiYo combines the muscle sculpting, core firming benefits of Pilates with the strength and flexibility advantages of yoga. We crank up the speed to deliver a true fat-burning, low impact workout that leaves your body looking long, lean and defined. Class begins Sunday, Sept 8 from 4 to 5 p.m. for participants 18 and older; cost is $52 for Parker residents and $57 for non-residents.

Ready to take your strength training to the next level? Small Group Barbell Training provides a great introduction to the barbell lifts - squats, bench press, overhead press and deadlifts - and how to train for real strength gains. Participants, ages 16 and older will work with a personal trainer on form and technique and complete a linear progression in the four major lifts. Classes with the trainer meet every Sunday from 3 to 4 p.m., beginning Sept. 29. Cost is $108 per Parker Resident and $119 for non-residents.

Power Pool, an intense water fitness class for adults 18 and older, will change your mind about your traditional aqua aerobics class. During this 60-minute class you will circuit your way through stations designed to strengthen each muscle group while utilizing both the deck and the pool. Achieve that cross-training advantage through strength training, cardio and water resistance drills. Classes are held each Wednesday and Friday, from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. beginning Sept. 18 or each Fri., from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. beginning Nov. 1; cost is $20 Parker resident and $22 for non-residents.

Fitness classes are held at the Parker Recreation Center, 17301 E. Lincoln Ave.
