Tai Chi – Moving for Better Balance is an evidence-based program, designed and tested to decrease the number of falls, the risk of falling and the fear of falling by improving functional balance and physical performance. Using eight forms that have been derived from the traditional 24-form Yang style Tai Chi, the class progresses from easy to difficult. The program is intended for older adults ages 60 and over and is held each Monday and Wednesday from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. at the Parker Recreation Center. The next session begins July 8 through Aug. 28; cost is $60 per Parker resident and $66 for non-residents.'
Are you bored with your current exercise program? Women on Weights encompasses multiple formats utilizing dumbbells, barbells, bands, steps, stability and core training. It's perfect for women, 18 years and older, who would like to learn the proper mechanics of weight training while focusing on muscular strength, core and endurance. Grab a friend and head over to the Parker Recreation Center; 17301 E. Lincoln Ave. each Thursday from 5:45 to 6:45 p.m. from July 18 through Aug. 29. Cost is $30 for Parker residents and $34 for non-residents.
