Yoga for Runners is designed to help runners ages 16 and up to develop greater flexibility, fitness and mental focus. Yoga sequences include poses on areas of the body that are most overused or prone to injuries for runners. These techniques can be used post-run as a thorough stretch or on its own as important cross-training and injury prevention. The first session will be held each Thursday from 4 to 4:55 p.m. at the Recreation Center starting June 15 to July 6 with a special three-week rate of $15 per Parker resident and $16.50 for a non-resident. A four-week session is also available every Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 12:25 p.m. from July 15 through Aug. 5. Cost for this session is $20 per Parker resident and $22 for a non-resident. FREE Introductory classes will be held at RNK Running & Walking on June 12 and July 11 from 7 to 7:45 p.m.; participants are encouraged to bring their own yoga mat.
Want to try Yoga but not sure where to start? If so, Beginners Yoga Workshop- Anatomy and Alignment is just the class for you! This beginner course teaches new yoga participants, ages 18 and up, the basics of anatomy and alignment. Learn how to practice and honor your body’s physical anatomy due to genetics, injury and aging. Join other beginner yogis at the Recreation Center on Thursday, June 29 from 5:30 to 7:15 p.m. Fees are $20 for Parker residents and $22 for non-residents.
