The Parker Recreation Department partners with the Parker Racquet Club to offer a wide variety of tennis classes, camps, private lessons, leagues and tournaments for youth.
These tennis programs are recreational in nature, using modified equipment and courts to provide age-appropriate skill development.
The Town of Parker is also a member o the United States Tennis Association providing access to nationwide tennis resources.
QuickStart Tennis is structured for kids to learn tennis and play quickly in a way that is both enjoyable and rewarding. The QuickStart Tennis format uses shorter courts, shorter racquets, lower pressure balls and modified scoring. Parker Recreation offers QuickStart camps and classes for ages 4 to 6 and 7 to 10.
Programs for Youth Ages 11 to 16
Beginner classes and camps teach the tennis basics including forehands, backhands, serves, volleys, singles, and doubles strategies along with learning the scoring and rules of the game.
Intermediate classes and camps continue teaching tennis basics to players who have some previous tennis experience. Players are grouped according to ability levels for drills and match play.
Junior Development Programs
Colorado Junior Team Tennis (ages 8 to 18) is for beginner to advanced players looking to practice and play against local Towns and clubs. High School drop in drills and training prepares players who currently play or are hoping to play in high school to perform at a varsity level.
